COMMITTEES

In order to accomplish the goals of the NJLA Strategic Plan, a new organizational structure for the Association was needed. NJLA had to reorganize its committee structure in order to create a process which could more quickly and effectively meet the needs of its members. The strategic plan recommended that NJLA consolidate its 32 standing committees into just four major committees.

Under this new organizational structure, the NJLA Executive Board will assume a stronger role in the governance of the organization. For the first time, there will be board committees with responsibilities in the areas of finance, planning, constitution and bylaws and employee relations. The board will also work with the Committee Chairs and Section Presidents to develop and implement activities to ensure that all parts of the Association are moving in the same direction.
