NJLA Personnel Administration Committee Benefits Survey

A total of 107 public libraries representing all population size categories responded to the 2007 library benefits survey, including libraries from all counties except Hunterdon, Ocean and Sussex. The survey queried library administrators regarding employee coverage for health, dental, prescription drug, and vision plans as well as coverage for life and disability insurance. Other questions included in the survey solicited responses regarding coverage of employee expenses for membership in professional associations and attendance at professional conferences.

It was difficult to draw any conclusions from this data based on either geography or library size. However, the members of PAC feel strongly that the raw data collected as a result of this survey may be helpful to NJLA members seeking to improve the level of benefits provided in their own libraries.
