McGuire AF BASE Joint Services Library
Abstract: With the joint basing of McGuire, Ft.Dix, and Lakehurst, the McGuire Services Library has had higher demands for library materials for military personnel who are mobile frequently. The library teamed up with the Friends group and began a campaign to buy MP3 players and download 4 audiobooks on them (from OVERDRIVE), so deployed and TDY soldiers and airmen can listen while away. We have also arranged that these MP3 players can be returned to any AFB library in the world, and they will be mailed back to us at McGuire, at no charge to the airmen. This service has been very. very successful and has set a precedent for the US Air Force Base Libraries.
