Abstract: The Empowering Teens as Community Partners Summit was  a one-day mini-conference that brought together Ocean County's Teen Librarians, Branch Managers and Representatives from their respective Middle & High Schools. The goals of the event were to strengthen school and library collaboration, to establish and strengthen library Teen Advisory Boards at branches and to showcase the various opportunities/programs the library provides for teens to make a difference in their library and their community.  Guest speakers were Wendy Lesko of the Youth Activism Project and Hedra Packman of the Free Library of Philadelphia.  The day was a springboard for several collaborative projects between the library and schools.  The Ocean County Library's vision for Teen Services is "WE EMPOWER TEENS" and the summit event truly furthered this vision.
