Title:"Suddenly Last Summer"
Presenter: Joanne Friedman, Children's Librarian, Kearny Public Library.
Abstract: The Kearny Library faced quite a challenge last summer due to the summer assignments of every fourth, fifth, and sixth grader. They had to do research about states and countries. The Library responded by acquiring resources asap, scheduling staffers, publishing pathfinders, and coaching the children and their parents. As a result, the students completed their projects, and the Library showed that with the right attitude and support, even the most daunting tasks are manageable.
