Abstract: The Center of Alcohol Studies Library at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is going through a period of transition, looking to the past while working in the present with a commitment to improve in the future. The library currently offers a customized approach to information retrieval in an effort to meet the individual research needs of scholars, instructors and students. The changing landscape of information services within the library field generally points to a need for a stronger online presence yet to be explored and implemented. The Center of Alcohol Studies Library looks to the future with an eye on a greater variety of electronic resources.
