Committees of the section and chapter provide opportunities for academic librarians to become actively involved in projects, professional development activities and in the general development of the academic organization. 
User Education Committee
The User Education Committee presents formal and informal programs and workshops of interest to academic instruction librarians.


Research Committee

The Research Committee promotes research among academic librarians by sponsoring the Research Forum at the NJLA Conference, by honoring a New Jersey librarian for the best published research annually and by supporting other activities that encourage sharing information about research projects. 
Technology Committee 
The Technology Committee sponsors programs and other activities for meeting the technological challenges facing libraries and librarians. Each year at the NJLA Spring Conference, the Committee presents the NJLA Technology Innovation Award, which honors a librarian or group of librarians for innovative use and application of technology in a New Jersey academic library. Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee prepares an annual slate of candidates for office.


Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award Committee annually invites nominations for and selects an individual who has made outstanding contributions to academic librarianship in New Jersey. Review Distinguished Service Award Nominations Guidelines for 2008.
