“Pay to Play” Law

Information about the “Pay to Play” law can be found on the Division of Local Government Services website. The site includes sample forms, an FAQ, updates and a decision tree that can help libraries determine which course of action to take when purchasing.

PEOSHA – PEOSHA stands for the Public Employees Occupational Health and Safety Act. The requirements of this legislation are administered by two departments of state government:

• The NJ Department of Health and Seniors Services investigates complaints about health hazards in the workplace

• The NJ Department of Labor investigates complaints about safety hazards in the workplace.

Records Retention Schedules

The Bureau of Records Management creates Records Retention Schedules for all public records. These schedules list the minimum legal and fiscal time periods that various public records must be retained by state and local governmental and educational agencies.
