Jersey City Public Library: New Jersey Room: Includes current and historical information Jersey City, Hudson County and New Jersey.
Jewish Historical Society of Central New Jersey: Collection includes books, pamphlets, organizational documents, oral histories, and Jewish memorabilia.
Monmouth University: Guggenheim Library: Special Collections include University Archives, NJ collection, Map collection, and Lewis Mumford Collection. Please note that due to continuing renovations parts of their collections may not be open to the public.

Morristown and Morris Township Library: Local History and Genealogy Department: A large collection of genealogical materials, including family histories, New Jersey and genealogical periodicals, city directories, church records and various newspaper indices.

New Jersey State Library: One of the largest genealogy and Jerseyana collections in the state. Materials includes statewide resources such as city directories, newspapers, family histories, doctoral dissertations, photograph collections.
Newark Public Library: New Jersey Information Center: Holdings consist of materials such as the Newark Evening News index and morgue, Essex County and Newark City Documents, and photographs.
Plainfield Public Library: Local history collection includes newspapers, postcards, blueprints, maps, and Jerseyana.
Rutgers University: Special Collections and University Archives: Description of the whole collection, outlining the four divisions within SPCOL/UA (the Sinclair New Jersey Collection, Manuscripts, Rare Books, and the Rutgers University Archives).
Salem County Historical Society: Jacquett Memorial Historic Library: Collection containing genealogical and local history information, deeds, survey maps, Quaker records, family files and Census data for Salem County.
Seton Hall University: William Noé Field Archives & Special Collections Center: Break down of Seton Hall's vast collections. Their various holdings include University Archives, Archdiocese of Newark records, Rare Books and South Orange materials.
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey: Special Collections: Materials include information about the history of medicine in New Jersey and also the University Archives. A guide to the collections is available here.
Atlantic County Library: Search South Jersey newspapers from the 1860s to the early 1900s, immigration records from 1890-1930, and wills and other documents from the Atlantic County Clerk's and Surrogate's Offices.
Cumberland County Historical Society: "The Cumberland Collection" includes documents from 1748-1880 and a historical postcard collection. Issues of the Argus and New Jersey Sentinel (1795-1796) and the Washington Whig (1815-1824) are also available in pdf formats.
