Children's Services Librarian 1, Bucks County Free Library, Levittown, PA
Tuesday, January 28, 2020 11:59 AM
The Bucks County Free Library is looking for an upbeat, outgoing, and creative Children’s Services Librarian to join our Children’s Services Team. We want to hire a resilient person who thrives on change, shifts gears comfortably, and is not afraid of taking risks. This position will be based at our Levittown Branch. When working at the branch, you will staff the floor and conduct a variety of library programs and activities for children and their families. You will coordinate your efforts with our traveling Children’s Services team of Programming Assistants, who also deliver regularly scheduled branch programs. Recruiting and managing teen volunteers is a county-wide priority and the most important thing we do for this demographic. In order to best serve the working families in this community, you will regularly conduct outreach visits. This includes traditional pre-school visits where you will conduct story times, as well as pop-up activities at public parks, local businesses, and community events.

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys outreach as much as in-library programming. If you love working together on projects with colleagues and appreciate the leverage and time savings that comes from team efforts, this job will be a good fit for you. You regularly will work as a team member or leader to help develop, plan, and deliver innovative programs, program plans, and program kits that will be shared and offered county wide by you and your colleagues. Check out our website and social media to get a good idea of our direction and where you might fit. This is a non-exempt bargaining unit position.
