P-T Children's Circulation Assistant, Leonia Public Library, Leonia
The Leonia Public Library seeks a friendly, active, service-oriented person to work at the Children’s Room circulation desk.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
  • Circulation services, including using LEAP to help patrons locate, borrow and return items, fill requests, and to create/update library cards.
  • Processing and linking of children’s materials.
  • Shelving children’s materials.
  • Assist patrons in selection of materials to meet specific needs and interests.
  • Actively conceives and executes children’s programs.
  • Assists during library programs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HOURS: Schedule requires morning, afternoon and evening hours, with a minimum of 17 hours a week and Saturday shifts.

STARTING SALARY: $13 - $14/hr, commensurate with experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication, the ability to multitask, and working well with children are required skills.
  • Able to create, administer or assist with programming. Fresh ideas welcome.
  • Shelving materials; requires ability to lift books, reach high and low shelves, and maintain organization of materials.
  • BCCLS/LEAP experience a plus. Candidates fluent in Korean also are encouraged to apply.
