The Elizabeth Public Library seeks a Librarian II or III with supervisory experience, an appreciation for urban librarianship, and a sense of humor, to lead our Information & Adult Services department. The selected candidate will supervise a team of four, including the Library webmaster. The Elizabeth Public Library serves New Jersey’s 4th largest city with a budget of $4.3 million and a staff of 40 FTE. Our population is urban, immigrant, and diversified.
Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum: Master’s degree in Library Science from a school accredited by the American Library Association. Should possess a demonstrable understanding of conventional and emerging technologies; skill as a public speaker; a talent for collaboration; the ability to foster lasting community partnerships via outreach; and a passion for public libraries. Fluency in Spanish highly desirable. Three to five years’ public library experience with supervisory experience required.

Compensation: Salary range is $65,000-$75,000, depending on title/experience. Competitive benefits package
