NJLA CUS/ACRL-NJ Technical Services Award

The NJLA CUS Bibliographic Control and Metadata Committee (BCMC) and the NJLA Technical Services and Collection Development Section will honor one librarian or team of librarians who have worked in collections and technical services including but not limited to: acquisitions, cataloging, metadata, collection management, preservation, electronic and continuing resources and has made significant contributions to enhance and advance technical services librarianship. Please consider nominating yourself or colleagues for work related to technical services.

CRITERIA

Nominees must be librarians currently or previously employed at an academic, public, or special library or consortium in the state of New Jersey. Membership in NJLA is not required. Current members on award jury are not eligible for consideration.

The nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following achievements:

  • Planning and implementing a technical services program of noteworthy quality
  • Leadership abilities within the area of technical services
  • Outstanding leadership or service to the profession through regional, state, and national organizations
  • Contributions or innovations in technical services
  • Significant contributions to professional literature

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Electronic submissions are required. Nominations should include the following information:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Nominee’s name, contact information, and present position
  • A description of the nominee’s noteworthy contributions in technical services librarianship that support the nomination. (no more than 500 words)

SELECTION PROCESS

The award is presented during the New Jersey Library Association Annual Conference, College and University Section Award Luncheon Meeting.
