Rising Star Award: Librarians, Paraprofessionals, and Students

This award recognizes one or more deserving individuals for innovative and creative work in a New Jersey library in 2023.
CRITERIA
  • Individuals must be a current NJLA member. 
  • Individuals can be nominated (or self-nominate) for this award in one of three categories:
    • Librarians who have been working for less than five years
    • Paraprofessionals who have been working for less than five years
    • Students who have performed exemplary research and/or worked in the field of Library Science (internship, PhD program, development of an innovative idea of program, etc)
  • Examples of “Innovative and Creative Work” could include:
    1. Initiating a new service or program
    2. Reaching out to an underserved population
    3. Taking his or her library in a new direction
    4. Creating a model service or project for other libraries to emulate
