The Springfield Free Public Library is looking to hire a part time librarian to cover the reference desk one evening per week, 5:00-9:00 PM, plus every third Saturday, with the possibility of also working some Sunday hours on a voluntary basis at a rate of time and a half. When the library operates under its normal schedule, Saturday hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; during July and August, Saturday hours are 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This position will become available when the library resumes its normal hours of operation which is anticipated to be sometime later this spring.

This position meets the NJLA minimum salary recommendation for candidates holding or currently eligible to hold a New Jersey Professional Librarian certification. Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited master’s degree level library program will be considered for this position at an hourly rate based on the amount of relevant coursework taken.
