Salary:$27.8298 per hour ($50,650.23 annually), 35 hours per week
Schedule: Days, Evenings, & Weekends Required (Some Holidays)

The Camden County Library System is looking for a candidate that is able to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and deliver programs and services both virtually and in-person to our Adult Literacy Community. The successful candidate will be creative, positive and passionate in finding ways to bring programs, services and materials to residents of Camden County.

Description of Duties: This position will design, develop and coordinate adult literacy and education programs within the Camden County Library System and oversee all aspects of the Literacy Volunteers of America—Camden County organization. The successful applicant will demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of a diverse community, and have the ability and passion to design and implement literacy and adult education programs that improve the lives of Camden County residents.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Oversees all aspects of the Literacy Volunteers of America-Camden County organization, including but not limited to develop, coordinate, organize and schedule adult literacy and education programs and events that are presented both in-person and virtually. Direct and participate in tutor and learner recruitment, organize and conduct basic literacy and ESL tutor training workshops, provide small group instruction and training, develop and implement strategic goals and objectives as related to adult literacy, seek out, apply for, and administer grants to support the Literacy Volunteers of America—Camden County, prepare and administer a budget, prepare and maintain records, reports of program activities and statistical reports as required. The successful candidate will also supervise staff, serves as liaison to Literacy Now, the fundraising arm of the Literacy Volunteers of America—Camden County, report activities of the Literacy Volunteers of America—Camden County to their advisory board, maintain awareness of new developments in the field of adult literacy and education and incorporate new developments, as appropriate, into programs and trainings, works with Library and County public relations staff to promote and raise awareness of literacy initiatives and programs. Other related duties as required. This position may be scheduled at other sites and attend off site meetings as required.

Requirements: A Master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association and two (2) years of FTE professional librarian experience. Prior supervisory experience a plus. The chosen candidate will be required to obtain a valid Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison State College. Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
