About the Position:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and forward thinking Technical Services Librarian, offering overall support in accomplishing the goals of the Technical Services Department. Responsible for planning and coordinating acquisitions, cataloging, catalog maintenance, and processing operations. Administering, maintaining, and enhancing functionality of the integrated library system. Planning, maintaining, and managing the library’s digital directions, and developing appropriate performance measures.

Major Duties:

• Plan, develop implement, and maintain the library’s online databases, interlibrary loan systems, and Website.
• Copy or create MARC bibliographic, holdings and authority records for all materials obtained for library collections, including books (print and eBooks), periodicals, audiovisual (streaming, DVDs, CDs).
• Act as library technology liaison both internally and externally. Work with library staff to resolve issues with technical services department.
• Processing all materials for shelving (includes stamping, labeling, jacketing, adding security strips, etc.)
• Participate in collection development activities both generally and specifically in assigned areas throughout library system.

Qualifications:

MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution, two years of recent library experience and a Professional Librarian certificate issued by the State of New Jersey. Must have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

This person must have a strong knowledge of current library technologies and demonstrated experience using technology and digital resources. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. This is a full-time 35 hours a week position. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
