The New Jersey Library Association is committed to growing and advancing library professions in the state of New Jersey. To demonstrate this commitment, NJLA is providing scholarships to students attending or accepted to an ALA-accredited library school. Applicants must live or work in the state of New Jersey. The Scholarship Committee seeks to recognize library students who demonstrate academic achievement, innovation, and the potential for leadership.

To consider your application, the NJLA Scholarship Committee will require a completed online application with supporting materials (listed below) submitted no later than March 5, 2021. All supporting materials must be postmarked by March 5, 2021. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all requested materials are received by the stated deadline.

Supporting materials to be submitted in addition to the online application:

A resume or CV that includes your work and education history, along with any internships or volunteer work.

Official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended (undergraduate and graduate). Official transcripts may be emailed or mailed in sealed envelopes along with your application packet.

Two letters of recommendation. Submit two letters of recommendation from individuals from your professional, business, or educational history who can comment specifically on your ability to excel as a graduate student in library and information science, as well as within the profession. Letters of recommendation must be in an original sealed, postmarked envelope, and include the reference’s contact information, including mailing address, email address, and phone number if mailed.
