Member-to-Member Communications
There are various methods for communicating with leadership, your group, and NJLA members.
Communicating with Your Group
E-Lists (Distribution Lists)
Every committee, section, and task force has an e-list. An e-list allows all members of a group to communicate with each other through a single e-mail address. To find your groups e-list e-mail address, log into your Member Community (members.njla.org) and check the Announcements area in the side panel.
Requesting a Zoom Room/Link
If your group does not have access to a paid Zoom account, the Professional Development Committee can set up meeting rooms for you. Send an email to pd@njla.org to put in a request.
Communicating with Membership
Weekly Update
If you have news or an event to share with membership, there are a number of options including the Friday Weekly Update, social media, and the event calendar to name a few. Please see Promoting events for more information.
Blog Posts
All committee and task force members, as well as section leadership may post blogs to the Member Community Site. New blogs will appear in your Home Feed.
Cross-Posting
While it may be tempting to cross post announcements to other section lists, please avoid doing this. There are hundreds of people on each section list and many people are subscribed to multiple e-lists. Members do not like receiving the same message six times.
Communicating with Leadership
NJLA considers someone a leader if they are on the executive board, or are a group chair, co-chair, president, or vice-president.
Leadership Contact Spreadsheet
NJLA maintains a spreadsheet with the contact information for each member of a 2025-26 NJLA committee or task force, and the leadership for each section. If your group experiences a change in leadership, please let us know (office@njla.org) so we can keep all lists current. Note, this spreadsheet is only available to members in leadership positions.
Leadership Team E-List
All leaders are added to the Leadership E-List. You can e-mail your fellow leaders at njla-leadership@connectedcommunity.org. You must be in a leadership position to be able to send or receive emails to and from this address.
