A Note About Religious and Cultural Observances

NJLA and NJASL strive to design a conference experience that is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. As part of the planning process, we carefully consider conference dates in relation to major religious and cultural observances. Despite this effort, constraints related to venue availability, capacity, and scheduling for a joint conference can limit viable date options.

The dates of the NJLA/NJASL Joint Conference coincide with Ash Wednesday, Lunar New Year, and Ramadan. We recognize that this overlap may affect how some attendees are able to participate. What to expect:

  • Flexible lunch participation: Attendees may attend and hear speakers during scheduled lunch periods without purchasing a lunch ticket. (Per Hard Rock rules, outside food is not permitted in the meeting space.)
  • Quiet space onsite: A dedicated room will be available throughout the conference for prayer, reflection, or other personal needs.
  • Local observance resources: Information about nearby churches and other places of worship or observance will be shared prior to the conference.
