Knowing the signs of Alzheimer's and dementia - for library workers
Alzheimer's disease is a significant public health issue, with 185,000 people in New Jersey and over 7 million Americans living with the disease.
This presentation will provide tips for librarians on how to detect dementia and interact effectively and compassionately with patrons with the disease. Public education about the disease is essential to ensure early detection and effective treatment. This presentation will feature an overview of the disease and its origins, course, and treatments.
An Alzheimer's Association resource overview will be included.
