PT Readers’ Advisor, The Morristown & Morris Township Library
Job Description:
Are you a people person and enjoy working with the public?
The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, customer
service-oriented person to join our creative and dedicated staff as a Readers’
Advisor in the Reference/Adult Services Department. The person in this position helps patrons with
researching possible fiction books, checking out Library materials, aiding
patrons using the Library’s study rooms, running some of the Library’s book
clubs, performing collection maintenance, making purchasing recommendations,
and other tasks as assigned.

such as displays, fliers, Library book clubs, and other creative tasks. We like
a person who can work independently, but also work as a part of our great team
here at the Library.

What is the Library looking for in a candidate?
The ideal candidate will have great customer service experience, can work
with computer software, the online Library catalog and web browsers. Knowledge
of the Spanish language is a plus, but not required. Candidates will need a
high school diploma but some college coursework is desirable. The candidate
will run at least one library book group. Knowledge of—and interest in—various
fiction genres is a plus. The Library can be a busy place; we are
looking for someone who enjoys being active, interacting with the public, and is
up for learning new things.
What are the perks for working at the Library?
This is a part-time position 14-15
hours per week that includes some weekday evenings and Weekends. The starting salary is $16.00/hr. with a
time-and-a-half rate of pay on Sundays. The position includes a pension (DCRP
through the State benefits system), some paid holidays, and sick time. Added bonus: a great work
