Quick Tips
From the Weekly Update archives
You may have noticed a new section in our Weekly Updates email—Quick Tips.
This section has two purposes:
- To help members get better acquainted with NJLA as an organization—its structure, how it operates, and the opportunities available to members.
- To share practical advice on using our new technology systems, making the most of member benefits, and handling everyday tasks like renewing memberships, updating profiles, posting jobs, and more.
Past Quick Tips will be added to this page each week.
NJLA is made up of several different groups: the Executive Board, sections, committees, and task forces.
- The Executive Board steers the organization. It ensures that NJLA’s work remains in line with its mission, strategies, and goals.
- Sections are groups that members have formed around a particular interest or job role. All NJLA members are eligible to join as many sections as they wish. You can join or leave a section at any time.
- Committees do the work of the organization. Committee members apply for a position and are appointed by the incoming President and President-Elect. These groups’ tasks include budgeting and investment, creating policy, fundraising, and planning the annual conference.
- The Executive Board creates Task Forces for a particular purpose and dissolves them after they complete their goal. Task force members are chosen by the President and President-Elect.
