The Diversity and Outreach Section, in collaboration with the Library Workers of Color (LWOC) Section and the Social Worker Section, is excited to announce the 2025 Diversity and Outreach Unconference. 

Join us for a day of connection, collaboration, and creativity as we explore how libraries and communities can navigate change and support one another. This year’s themeThriving Through Turbulent Timesinvites us to reflect on resilience and innovation during uncertain times.

At this time, we are inviting proposals that share fresh perspectives, practical tools, or inspiring stories to strengthen our community.

FEATURED GUEST SPEAKER - BRIAN JONES

Brian Jones is the senior director of Reading and Engagement at the New York Public Library. A longtime educator of many ages and grades, he served as the inaugural director of the NYPL's Center for Educators and Schools, was the associate director of education at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and continues to teach at the City University of New York. He is the author of The Tuskegee Student Uprising: A History, and Black History Is for Everyone.
