Librarian Beach Day
Asbury Park Beach Day

Join us for a relaxed day at the Jersey Shore! We'll soak up the sun on Asbury Park's iconic beach, then head over to the Silverball Museum to play classic pinball and arcade games. We'll grab lunch together along the way at one of the great spots on the boardwalk.
Whether you're up for swimming, strolling the boards, or just hanging out, everyone is welcome. Bring your friends, your family, and your sunscreen!
Where to meet: Let's gather in front of the Silverball arcade on the boardwalk. From there we'll head to the beach and figure out lunch together.
Parking: July is peak season in Asbury Park, so parking near the beach fills up fast — plan to arrive early. A few options:
- Street parking uses a pay-by-plate system. Asbury Park uses a city-wide "pay-by-plate" system for all its metered parking, and you can pay through the ParkMobile app by entering the zone number posted on the meter signs. The waterfront/boardwalk area is Zone 33300.
- Surface lots are available along the waterfront, including next to the Carousel building at the end of Cookman Avenue, though rates vary by day and season.
- Garage option: There's a public parking garages, a short walk from the boardwalk. Local parking lots, managed by lazparking.com
- Free option: Some people find free street parking in the residential areas a few blocks inland — just double-check the signs to avoid permit-only zones.
What to bring: Beach towel, sunscreen, swimsuit, and a few dollars for games and lunch. Note that beach badges are required for anyone 13+ (kids 12 and under are free) — daily passes run $10 dollars on the weekend and can be bought online at apbeachpasses.com or at the beach office.
