The Burlington County Library System (BCLS)
consists of 15 locations and both a Mobile Library and a Mobile Learning Lab
that travel to dozens of community touchpoints throughout the largest county in
the state. In addition, a Library by Mail service expands our reach in new and

DESCRIPTION
The Burlington County Library seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic librarian to join its Adult Services
team. The Information Resources Librarian aids and connects library users to
resources and information, as well as hosting programs and learning/training
opportunities for library customers. This position is also responsible for
ensuring community awareness of and connection to BCLS’s broad range of online
and print resources to locate, evaluate, and effectively use information. Additional
duties include:
· Provide outstanding customer service, reference, and readers’ advisory; demonstrate
knowledge of print and online resources.
· Promote and demystify library databases, online learning tools and platforms, as well as
general informational and research resources through group or one-on-one
training.
· Design and implement creative programming that connects the community to information
resources and promotes information literacy.
· Manage, update, and maintain BCLS’s online resource guides.
· Provide outreach to community groups, local business organizations, government, and non-profit
agencies to promote the effective use of library resources for their
organizations.
· Assist with special projects that support the library’s mission.
· Participate in professional conferences, seminars, and committees; read professional
literature; attend and participate in staff meetings.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
A master’s degree in library or information science in a library program
accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey Master’s
program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison
State College. Obtain a valid NJ license as a Professional Librarian within six (6)
months of appointment.
SCHEDULE
37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Friday evening rotation
September-June; rotating Saturdays; 4 Sundays per year.
