Rising Star Award: Librarians, Paraprofessionals, and Students
This award recognizes one or more deserving individuals for innovative and creative work in a New Jersey library in the last twelve months.
CRITERIA:
- Individuals must be a current NJLA member.
- Individuals can be nominated (or self-nominate) for this award in one of three categories:
- Librarians who have been working for less than five years
- Paraprofessionals who have been working for less than five years
- Students who have performed exemplary research and/or worked in the field of Library Science (internship, PhD program, development of an innovative idea of program, etc)

Examples of “Innovative and Creative Work” could include:

Initiating a new service or program

Reaching out to an underserved population

Taking their library in a new direction

Creating a model service or project for other libraries to emulate
