Young Adult Services Section (YASS)

About YASS

The Young Adult Services Section (YASS) connects librarians and library staff who serve teens. Our meetings serve as professional development spaces to discuss teen advocacy, programming ideas, emerging challenges, and more. All NJLA members are welcome to attend in person or virtually via Zoom.

YASS also presents programming on teen services at the annual Youth Services Forum each fall and at the Annual Conference each spring. Additionally, the section coordinates the Garden State Teen Book Awards: selecting and evaluating titles, distributing the ballot to libraries statewide, tallying votes from New Jersey teen readers, and honoring winners at the Garden State Luncheon during the Annual Conference.
