POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Librarian – West Orange Public Library

The West Orange Public Library seeks a part-time Librarian to serve in the Reference and Children’s departments for 12 hours per week including evening and weekend hours.  There may be opportunities for more hours as circumstances dictate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide excellent customer service, answer reference and reader’s advisory queries, participate in collection development, provide support for our online presence and promote Library services and collections through pathfinders, bibliographies, workshops and outreach.  Provide pro-active reader’s advisory and reference service to youth, teens, and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA-accredited MLS and a NJ Professional Librarian’s Certificate are required.  The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  We are seeking a librarian with the ability to work with children, teens and adults.

Salary meets NJLA guidelines.  Hourly rate is $36.17/hr.  Position is subject to NJDOP regulations. Salary range is according to CWA contract.
