Per Diem Librarian, Youth Services - Summit Free Public Library
Job Description:
DESCRIPTION: Seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and creative librarian to serve at the Youth Services Public Service Desk, provide reference and readers’ advisory services to patrons, maintain collections, and implement age appropriate programs as needed in a very busy Youth Services department.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:
- Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to the public.
- Assist patrons in using library and technology equipment and resources.
- Provide coverage for programming and assist with maintenance of collections as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience working with a variety of age groups, from babies and their caregivers to teenagers
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: ALA accredited Masters of Library Service and NJ Professional Librarian’s Certificate. Must enjoy and be comfortable working with children and young adults. Computer knowledge required.
