Part-Time Library Technology Assistant - Hasbrouck Heights Public Library
Job Description:
The Free Public Library of
Hasbrouck Heights is looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and
service-oriented individual to support daily library operations, maintain technology
systems, and lead computer training classes for the public. The ideal candidate
enjoys teaching others, solving technical issues, and collaborating in a
team-focused environment. The Library
Tech Assistant reports to the Head of Adult Services and serves as a key
contributor to our vibrant, community-centered public library.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Designs, schedules, promotes, and
conducts instructor-led technology training classes.
·
Prepares equipment and materials for
training, creates and/or updates materials as needed.
·
Uses effective classroom training
techniques, promotes active learning, adapts instruction to meet learners'
needs, and is encouraging.
·
Assists with digital literacy
training for library staff.
·
Assists in maintaining the library’s
website.
·
Handles customer service-related
tasks, whether in-person, by telephone, or by email.
·
Works with the social media team to
develop and promote publicity materials.
§ Prepares
statistical documentation.
Required
Qualifications
§ Completion
of a High School Diploma or Higher.
§ Strong
communication and organizational skills.
§ Exceptional
attention to detail and accuracy.
§ Familiarity
with technology tools and IT support.
§ Proficiency
in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
§ Ability
to multitask, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and work
independently.
§ Ability
to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively serve the public.
§ Demonstrated
commitment to community service.

Schedule: Work hours are 20 hrs/week. Monday-Friday and one Saturday a month.
