Job Description:
Full-Time Children’s Services Librarian
The West Milford Township Library is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and organized individual to join our team as full-time Children’s Services Librarian. A background in Children’s services and knowledge of the PALS Plus system preferred. The schedule for this position is 35 hours per week, including one evening shift per week and one weekend per month.
Responsibilities include:
Excellent customer service
Innovative and educational programming for children
Collection development for children
Reference and Reader’s Advisory for children and parents
Outreach/collaboration with schools and other organizations
Social media and other publicity outlets
Coverage at the circulation/reference desk when needed
Coordinate and create displays
Other related work as required
Requirements: MLS (or equivalent) degree from an accredited university and possession of a NJ State Librarian Certificate. Consideration may be given to those currently enrolled in an accredited MLS (or equivalent) program, with salary adjusted accordingly. Salary range is $64,000 - $66,000, based upon professional librarian experience. Students currently enrolled in an accredited MLS (or equivalent) program will be paid a starting salary of $58,000. Candidates must be willing to become a New Jersey resident within one year of hire.
West Milford Township Library offers medical benefits, paid vacation, personal, floating holiday, and sick time. Criminal background check required.
