Job Description:
Part-Time Youth & Teen Services Librarian
Location:
Belleville Public Library,
221 Washington Ave., Belleville
Hours:
·
Part-time, 16 hours per
week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 4 PM – 8 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM – 1 PM.
Salary:
·
Hourly range of $22-$28,
depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
·
MLS/ MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited
program. Students enrolled in an ALA-accredited
school are also encouraged to apply.
·
New Jersey State
Professional Librarian Certificate or the ability to apply to obtain.

and young adult literature, early literacy, and teen engagement.

Experience working with
youth and/or teens (libraries, schools, childcare, after-school programs, or
similar).
·
A friendly, creative, and
energetic personality.
·
Strong organizational and
communication skills.
·
The ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
What You’ll Do:
·
Recommend books and other
materials to children, teens, and their families.
·
Plan and lead engaging
events such as storytime, crafts, book clubs, and reading challenges.
·
Develop programs tailored
to teens, including gaming, creative writing, and volunteer opportunities.
·
Create welcoming and
imaginative displays to encourage reading and library engagement.
·
Support literacy
development and foster a love of books in young readers and teens.
