Materials Acquisition Update 10/31/25

News and Announcements,

This is an update on the 10/10 and 10/24 Materials acquisition updates:

Bookazine
Bookazine is a book wholesaler based in Bayonne, NJ. They provide bestsellers and other trade titles, as well as university and small press titles, and access to over 2 million current and backlist titles. Customers order via the Bookazine website or may use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). They plan to add MARC records, full-text reviews, and duplicate-checking in the first few months of 2026. They do not offer processing.

Bookazine’s two warehouses are located in New Jersey. They offer same-day shipping for trade titles with an 11:00 a.m. cutoff and free freight via UPS (20 assorted unit minimum; smaller purchase orders will be combined to achieve the 20-item minimum). New releases ship the week prior to on-sale (“street”) date, and backorders do not cancel. Backlist titles have 3-10 business day lead times.

Bookazine customer service can be reached via email at inquire@bookazine.com or give them a call at (800) 221-8112 or (201) 339-7777.

Amazon Books for Libraries Update
Amazon Books for Libraries (included for free with NJLA Enhanced Institutional Membership) is enhancing MARC records by the end of 2025 with BISAC subject headings, audience information, and 9XX tags. They are also working with the Library of Congress to add LC subject headings.

Another important tool for libraries: Amazon’s “Business Analytics” page for tracking backorders and shipments. If you use the default “Order Summaries,” you will see your orders divided by fulfillment center (Amazon warehouse); the Business Analytics page provides a more practical overview for the status of your orders.

Business Analytics reports

(login required) can be sorted by title or expected delivery date (street date and author are not yet options). Please let us know if you have any feedback to share as Amazon continues to develop this new service for libraries.
