PT Library Assistant - Moorestown Library
Job Description:
The Moorestown Library seeks an enthusiastic individual to provide excellent customer service in the position of Library Assistant.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a part-time, 7-20 hour per week position including Saturdays 10:30 am-2:30 pm, Sundays 9 am-5 pm with potential additional hours on Wednesdays 12-4 pm and Fridays 12-5 pm.
EXPECTED START DATE: August 1
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Answers phone and routes calls accordingly.
- Welcomes patrons entering the library.
- Registers new patrons, updates cards, and renews expired library cards.
- Checks material in/out.
- Assists patrons with information requests and/or finding material.
- Fields reference & assistance questions to appropriate staff.
- Handles basic math calculations with precision; collects donations and fees.
- Shelves returned materials
- Manages item requests/holds
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior library experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn new technology quickly
- Customer-focused: warm, friendly, helpful, courteous, and energetic with a positive attitude
- Able to lift books, stand, shelve on low and high shelves
SALARY and BENEFITS:
$18 hour plus sick and vacation pay and enrollment in retirement program
